A fictitious meeting between Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth 1st of England...
Mary Stuart is a wonderful play by Schiller based on historical fact but depicting a fictitious meeting between Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth 1st of England in 1587 at Fotheringhay Castle which ends in a vicious argument between the two queens and is instrumental in Elizabeth’s reluctant signing of Mary’s death warrant.
